The Catholic Community Delft is going on a pilgrimage to Onze Lieve Vrouw ter Nood in Heiloo. We depart from Delft Station at 08:24.

This pilgrimage coincides with Priest Saturday. Every first Saturday of the month, the monthly prayer day for vocations to the priesthood, diaconate, and religious life is held at the Shrine of Our Lady of Need (OLV ter Nood) in Heiloo.

Onze Lieve Vrouw ter Nood
Onze Lieve Vrouw ter Nood (Our Lady of Need or Our Lady in Distress), is the largest Marian pilgrimage site in the Netherlands, located in the quiet hamlet of Kapel south of Heiloo in North Holland. This diocesan sanctuary traces its origins to the late 14th century, when, according to tradition, a shipwrecked sailor found a miraculous statue of the Virgin Mary on a nearby field; despite repeated attempts to take it home, the image mysteriously returned to the spot, which was interpreted as a divine sign to build a chapel there. Centered around the Runxputte, a historic well long believed to possess healing properties, the site features the graceful 1930 Genadekapel (Grace Chapel) housing the venerated statue, a larger pilgrimage church constructed in 1913 by architect Jan Stuyt, a Stations of the Cross, a calvary hill, serene gardens, and a gallery-enclosed forecourt. For centuries a place of prayer, healing, and devotion - especially for those in times of distress - the sanctuary continues to welcome pilgrims with daily Masses, processions, and a peaceful atmosphere of spiritual reflection.
