De Tilburg School of Catholic Theology organiseert op 31 maart een bijeenkomst waarin prof. Myriam Wijlens, lid van de (pauselijke) coördinatiecommissie van het synodaal proces, een reflectie zal geven op de continentale fase van het synodaal proces. De bijeenkomst wordt gehouden in het Engels, en vindt plaats op vrijdag 31 maart, vanaf 11.00 tot 12.30 uur in het Warandegebouw, zaal WZ 105, waarna er koffiedrinken is in de Warandefoyer.

Netwerkbijeenkomst
Aansluitend aan deze academische lezing is het brede katholieke netwerk uitgenodigd voor een netwerkbijeenkomst. Deze bijeenkomst heeft tot doel met elkaar uit te wisselen welke initiatieven rond synodaliteit op stapel staan binnen de verschillende organisaties. Deze bijeenkomst duurt van 13.00 tot 13.45 uur.

Reflections on the Continental Stage of the Synod on Synodality
“Enlarge the Space of your Tent” (Is. 54:2)

The 2021-2024 Synod entitled “For a Synodal Church: Communion – participation –mission” opened with a consultation in the different dioceses around the world in which Catholics worldwide were invited to participate. The outcomes were submitted, and after reflecting upon, presented in the Document for the Continental Stage: “Enlarge the Space of your tent” (Is. 54:2).

This document was returned to the faithful in the local churches for discernment within continental meetings to answer three questions: How does the document resonate with your experience? What tensions or divergences emerge as relevant for your continent? What questions and issues should be addressed in the session of the synod of bishops in October 2023? In February and March 2023 seven continental meetings have addressed these questions. In her lecture prof. Myriam Wijlens, reflects about the current process and its outcomes.

Prof. Wijlens is member of the coordinating commission of the 2021-2024 Synod on Synodality in the Vatican, and member of the drafting team of the European Continental Meeting in Prague.
