Weekend meeting in Enschede: 13-15 December 2013

This weekend takes place at Huize Benedictus, Weegschaalstraat 36, Enschede. It starts the evening of Friday December 13th, and concludes Sunday afternoon. We follow a monastic style schedule, including solemn prayer, ‘gezellige’ activities and inspiring talks.

Join the full programme or just parts Join parts of the programme, or stay at Huize Benedictus during the night (highly recommended!). But then you should bring your own sleeping stuff, since we have no furniture there. We will have a women’s and a men’s floor with both their own showers and toilets: it’s like camping, but then indoor! (Let us know if you don’t have a sleeping bag, blanket or mat and we will look for a solution.)

The weekend will be English spoken and focussed on people between 17-32 years old. We offer this Advent Weekend for € 10 pp including meals! (Let us know if you don’t have the money and we will look for a solution.)

About Fr. Elias Leyds CSJ
Born and baptized Protestant in 1958, Dutch Fr. Elias studied at an international school in Wales where he met people of different cultures. Inspired by a Muslim friend he started to wonder about his faith. After studying Geophysics at TU Delft and working at Shell Fr. Elias found his calling at the community of St. John in France and became Catholic. As a monk Fr. Elias worked as prison chaplain in Vilnius and as parish priest in the Caucasus. In 2008 Fr. Elias moved to Australia, to work at a Christian youth centre by inspiring youth to Christ with martial arts. Fr. Elias is currently member of the pastoral team of the student parish in Utrecht and president at Radio Maria Nederland. He is considered an expert on philosophy and theology, with great love for the books of Saint John, Aristotle and St. Thomas Aquinas.
